Frequently asked questions

  • How do I book?
    To book, click on “Book Online” and it will take you through the steps to choose your preferred package, date, time and desired location(s). Click on "Request to Book" and we will confirm to see if your preferred date and location are available. You will receive an invoice once your picnic is good to go. Simply pay the deposit and your event will be secured.
  • How does the payment work?
    To secure your date, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required. The remaining 50% balance is due no later than 2 days prior to your picnic event. You may also pay for the picnic in one full payment at booking.
  • Where are the locations?
    We’ve scoped out some of the best spots in San Diego County! Click on “Locations” to find which stunning location is best for you. A travel fee will apply for destinations that are outside of our Preferred Locations.
  • What can I expect from a Gather & Graze picnic?
    Fuss-free FUN! We set up your picnic of choice and will have it ready upon your arrival at the selected time and location. Once you arrive, we will leave you to enjoy the picnic. After you have an amazing, memorable time, we will come to pack and clean everything up for you.
  • What if there's bad weather?
    No refunds will be issued for weather-related changes. If rain is in the forecast, we will move the location to accommodate a dry picnic or rescheduling the picnic to another day/time. If it is 48-hours/24-hours before your event and there is more than 30% chance of rain, we will contact you to discuss options.
  • What are the food and beverage options?
    We provide food options as add-ons to the Gather & Graze experience. Please see the “Add-Ons” section in the Packages page for more information. Sparkling water will be provided with ice.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    We do not offer refunds, but we can reschedule your reservation date (subject to availability) without penalty up to 72 hours before your picnic. After that, there is a 20% rescheduling fee to move your reservation. Once a picnic is set up, we cannot cancel or reschedule.
  • Can I bring my own food?
    Absolutely!
  • Is alcohol allowed?
    No. San Diego is very strict on consuming alcohol in public areas and with liquor licensing.
  • Do I need a permit?
    Our location options do not require a permit.
  • Is it okay if I'm late?
    Please arrive at the agreed time. Your picnic time starts at the originally agreed time whether you are late or not. Please contact us immediately if you know that you will be late. A late fee will be charged: 0 to 20 minutes = No Charge 20 to 45 minutes = $30 45 to 60 minutes = $60 More than 60 minutes = $90 and we have the right to pack the picnic without a refund
  • Can I leave early?
    Yes. However, please give Gather and Graze a 30 minute call or text if you decide to leave early. You are responsible for the items during your time frame, and any damage that occurs at that time may be subject to a fee.
  • What if I spill or break something?
    If the spillage is caused by water or non-staining items, you may not incur a fee unless dry cleaning cost is required. You will be billed for those costs. Please let Gather and Graze know at the end of your picnic if there are any major damages to the items so we can try to fix it. All damages must be paid for.
  • Can I gift a picnic?
    Yes! Please email us at hello@gatherandgraze-sd.com to order a gift voucher for any dollar value over $50.
